Getting your hair done is one of those touchy subjects. I mean, I can’t be the only person to watch in horror as a hairdresser styles my hair in an unquestionable way and then gone home to wash it straight away with my tears, right?
Well, that was not the case last week when I was invited along to Silverburn by Betty & Bee to have my hair styled at the new BLOW pop up shop. Hopping into a taxi, I was giddy as I thought about the incredible things I had heard about BLOW from a mix of bloggers, friends and Miley Cyrus.
Of course I was not let down. Being met by Claire from PR duo Betty & Bee, I was handed a glass of prosecco in what I thought was a crystal glass – it wasn’t by the way, but I do need to find out where they were from. We had a good old natter before getting down to business.
Sipping on my bubbly, I was shown the magical selfie light and all of the different styles I could have. Of course, the indecisive part of me appeared so I let the beautiful stylist, Kaitlin do her thang. Chattering away and posing for numerous pictures, I watched as my hair was twirled into the most perfect pin rolls I have ever seen. So much so that I just wanted to keep them as my look at first.
Of course I had to take a break to let me curls cool and to take a number of selfies. Can we just take a minute to talk about the light? Sheri, the Betty to Claire’s Bee, and I were talking and she told me it was only £80. For the flawless finish on my tired skin, I think that is a pretty good deal. Sorry, Christmas is cancelled – I need good selfies.
Back to the hair – I sat back down in front Kaitlin who delicately unravelled my pin curls to produce the most fabulously bouncy curls I have ever seen. As the curls fell around my shoulders I felt my confidence grow and my smile widen.
Let’s just say, it is incredible what a good hairdresser can do to you and the way you walk.
Now get yourself down there, strut yourself into all the parties and showcase all the sass.
Blow’s pop up will be in Glasgow’s Silverburn Shopping Centre until the first week of January! Christmas nights out, sorted.
