Ah, Beyoncé… we don’t think she needs an introduction. The international superstar jumped into our lives in 1998 as part of Destiny’s Child and never left again. Well, apart from her recent career break to have daughter Blue Ivy Carter, with husband Jay-Z.
After having her first proper bit of time off in around fifteen years we knew that Bey was going to come back with a bang – they don’t call her the Queen for nothing! So, what’s lined up in 2013 for Mrs Carter?
Well, the release of her highly anticipated fifth studio album, the follow-up to 2011’s 4, is set to cause major waves around the world. Its amazing list of rumoured collaborators include Rihanna, Jay-Z, Azealia Banks, Ne-Yo and Bey’s sister, the very stylish Solange.
2013 will also see the star embark on her latest world tour, The Mrs Carter Show. The mammoth sold-out journey across the globe starts on April 15th and includes six nights at London’s O2 Arena.
Her self-produced documentary Life Is But A Dream, which premiered in the UK last Thursday, showed Beyonce to be more than just a pretty face and a good set of lungs. The star also directed the production and can be seen getting her creative director hat on throughout, as well as playing the parts of mother, wife and all-round Sasha Fierce.
Recently announced as the face of the new summer collection at H&M, Bey can be seen in print and TV ads captioned, “Beyoncé as Mrs Carter in H&M”. Many items from the collection have had input from Beyoncé herself and will be available in stores in May – elbows at the ready, ladies!
The singer is also set to cover Amy Winehouse’s Back to Black in this year’s long-awaited remake of The Great Gatsby, starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Carey Mulligan. Jay-Z is the musical producer for the film, so it makes sense that he would ask his wife for some input – have a sneaky listen with the latest trailer below.

To top it all off, Beyoncé made her British Vogue debut this month, appearing on the cover wearing our very own Jonathan Saunders. In the interview with Vogue, the star talks about her marriage, daughter and huge year ahead, and looks bloody gorgeous in the photo shoot to boot.
Bey, we salute you. Now make sure you take some Berocca and get an early night – even Queens get colds you know.
