Going to a festival this summer? There really is no better time to play around with your hair and make-up look. We’re big fans of hair chalking here at Scotcampus, a non-permanent way to add rainbow colours to your hair, but we thought we’d investigate this summer’s other hot hair colour trends so you don’t have to.
5. Kevin Murphy COLOUR.BUG, £13.95, Kevin Murphy
Australian hairstylist Kevin Murphy invented the COLOR.BUG, a one night only hair colorant in fun shades like pink, purple and orange, allowing you to add a little temporary brightness to your look. Easy to apply, by firstly using a hair product to give your strands some grip, then rubbing on the colour, it’ll stay put all night and wash out easily.
These popular feather clip-in hair extensions are stocked in Topshop Oxford Circus – the ultimate seal of approval – and are available in various colours. The tie dye mix are our favourite; follow the easy how-to video to apply them to your hair and you’re good to go!
Another easy, non-commital dye product, available in multiple colours. The gel dries hard and holds your hair in any style you choose, while adding a little colour, so a pink faux-hawk could be yours!
2. Colorsmash Hair Shadow, £10, Selfridges
Colorsmash have an amazing array of hair shadows, from aqua blues and greens, through to girlie pinks and purples. Rub on, seal with hairspray, wash out – simple.
1. Schwarzkopf Live Color XXL, £5.49, Boots
If a subtle highlight isn’t enough and you’d rather have a full head of Katy Perry blue, look no further than Schwarzkopf’s Live Color XXL, which will give a shiny Smurf hue for around four weeks.
