Everyone loves animation movies, both children and adults alike. Odds are that you will have seen at least one Disney film in your time. If you haven’t, we have no idea what you’ve been doing or how you learned the important moral lessons in life. For those that grew up watching Disney films, did you know that scattered throughout the films are hidden messages? We’re guessing the creators added these in to offer adults a little lol after watching The Little Mermaid for the 4th time (that day). Here’s some of our favourites, be aware that some are just plain weird.
1. King Tridents Castle
This is a popular one. The rumour was that a disgruntled artist who was going to lose his job drew the phallic object in the castle of The Little Mermaid in annoyance over his impending redundancy.
2.Salute to the Captain
Keeping with The Little Mermaid theme (the cartoon drawers obviously had some issues) this is one that you wont miss if you have an early release of the movie. As you can see in later renditions of the movie the Ministers “knee” (as Disney said it was) has been removed.
3.What a Sexy Cloud
This one is a bit harder to notice (a pun that would have been perfect for number 2) as it disappears fairly fast. If you look carefully, while you’re watching the Lion King, you will see that the animators decided to put a little adult joke in there. Within the dust cloud that Simba unleashes when he falls to the ground is the word “SEX” in big letters. Certain phrases in the film have completely different meaning now.
4.Just Take Off Your Clothes
I was hoping that the people at Disney had left Aladdin alone but no. The scene when Aladdin is on Jasmine’s balcony and is trying to brush off the growling tiger Rajah, he can apparently be heard whispering “take off your clothes”.
5.I think We’re Getting a Bit Tangled Up in This
A newer hidden message from a Disney movie produced in 2010 ‘Tangled’. In this picture you can see that the word ‘sex’ is spelled out on the rope. Looking at the face of the horse he certainly seems to disapprove of this kind of seedy behaviour.
In 1999 Disney was forced into furiously recalling roughly 3.4 million copies of the Rescuers VHS, after the discovery of a controversial image hidden in the background of a scene. The shot, included below, featured a topless lady at her window as the Rescuers zipped past on Orville’s back.
In the scene Jessica is involved in a taxi crash and is ejected from the car, and while flying through the air, inadvertently flashes herself. The shot was eventually edited out, as in the image below.
