If you haven’t heard of Tanya Burr, then you must be one of those alien-like creatures that baffle me – y’kno, the ones that aren’t nearly as obsessed with make up as I am. As one of the most popular beauty “YouTubers” on the web, Tanya has over 1,800,000 subscribers who watch her videos and hang onto her every word. With that in mind, I’m sure I wasn’t alone in jumping for joy when I heard she was set to release her very own line of lip glosses and nail polish exclusively on feelunique.com .
The small collection, which will also be launching in Superdrug, consists of 12 lip glosses (priced £6.99 each) and 10 nail polishes (priced £5.99 each). As a former makeup artist, Tanya knows what makes a good product and she’s certainly put a lot of work into creating a collection that is just as amazing in quality as it is affordable in price.
Whilst I’m yet to try any of her nail polishes (Little Duck and New York Night are definitely calling my name!) her lip glosses have become my new go-to product. They come in both crème and shimmer finishes and in a huge variety of shades – ranging from soft nude to bright peach and vampy red.
For my first order (the first of many, no doubt), I opted for 2 very different shades – Just Peachy and Exotic Island. Just Peachy is a creamy, peach-nude shade which will look lovely worn with a tan come summertime. Exotic Island, on the other hand, is a bright fuchsia colour which looks amazing when paired with winged black eyeliner and a worn-in leather jacket.
Both the glosses have an amazing high-shine finish and the colours (especially Exotic Island) are incredibly buildable. I initially chose those 2 shades as I wanted one to wear to work and another for going on nights out but I think I’ll actually be getting a lot of wear out of them both as Just Peachy can be built up to a strong nude whilst Exotic Island can be toned down to make it more wearable. The doe foot style applicator Tanya has chosen is really unique and makes the application process really easy and enjoyable – trust me, it’s difficult to make these look bad!
The glosses aren’t sticky at all and feel nice and moisturising on the lips – a quality which is increasingly hard to find in lip glosses. Another thing I absolutely LOVE about the lip glosses is the scent – they smell just like sweeties. And, at the end of the day, what could be better than an awesome lip product that reminds you of pick ‘n’ mix?!
