I first became interested in Electric Haircare when I met Mark Wooley, the brains behind the fun and exciting brand, when he was in Edinburgh promoting the launch of the range. His strong passion for the products was so infectious that it made me really eager to try them out and I am so glad that I did!
Electric Haircare was created by Mark and his Electric Art Team, and it took them several years to research and develop the final line. With over 21 years of experience in the industry, Mark is definitely well placed to advise on what makes a great hair product!
My favourite items from the Electric Haircare collection have to be the Electric Hydrate Shampoo (£17.50) and Conditioner (£18.50) as, when used together, they leave my hair looking really smooth and shiny. They both have a lovely creamy formula which lathers well and leaves my hair feeling really soft and refreshed. Both products also have a light tropical scent to them which is great as it lingers on the hair but doesn’t smell too overpowering (something I hate unless I absolutely love the scent!)
The Hydrate range is perfect for hair that is lacking moisture as it is designed to breathe new life into dull and dried out locks. However, Electric also do a Colour Protect range (£17.50 – £18.50) which would be ideal for those who have coloured or damaged hair.
The shampoo and conditioner also both come in really tall, stylish black and white containers which look great when left out in my bathroom (an unnecessary, but totally welcome bonus!). The products are really effective and you only have to use a small amount of each to achieve fantastic results which I think is great as it means the 250ml bottles last a really long time.
Electric Hairdressing are set to open their first Scottish salon in Harvey Nichols Edinburgh later this month and, as it’s my home town, I cannot wait to see what they have to offer. The Electric Edinburgh team will be headed up by the very talented Scott Fairbairn, who Mark has worked with for over 8 years. I’ve also heard the salon will offer appointments with Mark himself which I think is fantastic. They are also offering students an amazing 25% discount (Sunday – Friday)!
