I don’t know what I’ve done to annoy it but the Scottish winter weather seems to really have it in for me. If it’s not the rain making my hair explode until I look like Merida from Brave, it’s the cold air stripping the moisture from my skin. And don’t even get me started on the 4pm nightfall…
Now, this probably isn’t the first review you’ve read about this product but I still had to sing its praises because Hydraluron Moisture Booster (from Indeed Laboratories) has saved my skin this winter. It’s one of those unusual products that you don’t think you need – until, of course, you try it and suddenly manage to convince yourself that you can’t function without it.
Hydraluron is clear and has a bizarre gel-like texture which is unlike anything else you’ll find in the beauty hall. You apply it underneath your moisturiser (just like a serum) and it basically encourages your skin to absorb your moisturiser more effectively. I know it sounds like a bit of a gimmick but I honestly couldn’t believe how much this product improved the texture of my skin after just one use. I put it on just before going bed (I only needed a tiny amount to cover my whole face) and woke up to skin that looked fresh and radiant.
After doing some research, I discovered the secret ingredient that makes this product so good is hyaluronic acid – a Swiss water-holding molecule which can apparently retain up to 1,000 times it’s weight in water. Take that, winter weather!
Hydraluron is available from Boots and is currently only £16.66 due to a 30% off promotion (rrp: £24.99). I’ll definitely be repurchasing this when I run out, though I’m expecting the tube to last for a long time.
