On the run up to Christmas we’re giving you some gift inspiration. Be it for friends and family or for yourself, Santa doesn’t judge. First up it’s the fantastic pop up shops at House Of Frasers, Buchanan St.
It’s been the word on the street for the last couple of weeks, yep, House of Fraser invited three of their favourite up and coming Scottish fashion designers to showcase and sell their pieces within the Glasgow store. Could our Christmas wish list be any easier to tick off? As tempting as online shopping sounds over the festive season, HOF’s pop ups are sure to get you super excited about the high street. Hats off to House of Fraser – it’s every designer’s dream to have their collection displayed alongside huge fashion labels such as Moschino and Prada.
First up it’s the uber-talented, award winning Rebecca Torres. Renowned for her use of figure hugging shape and block colour, Rebecca has been making serious headway in the industry with a sell out collection on ASOS and prestigious coverage in a series of publications including Vogue, Grazia, Vice and Cosmopolitan already under her belt. We hope you pick up one of her bright colour pop body con dresses on your travels! Her pieces are to die for, perfect for booty shaking and cutting some killer shapes on the dance floor! As well as super talented she’s also super generous: drop Rebecca a picture of you posing in your Rebecca Torres dress to [email protected] and you can get 20% off your next order. Get snapping gals!
Next up it’s emerging luxury women’s wear fashion label Saunt & Sinner. Graduating from Grays School of Art in 2012, Saunt & Sinner make cutting edge statement pieces for the fashion conscious female. Since graduating and after winning prestigious funding, they have become a massive success, with their pieces worn by Emeli Sande and Sophie Kennedy. Get your hands on some of the sickest garments on the block. You have from now until the 15th of December to have a peek at their AW13 Broken doll collection including some one-of-a-kind pieces that have been designed especially for the event.
Completing the trio it’s luxury women’s wear line Joanne McGillivray. Her collection was inspired by a trip to St Petersburg where Joanne fell in love with Russian tapestries. After winning the Graduate of the Year Award at the 2012 Scottish Fashion Awards, Joanne won a six week internship at Marks and Spencer and has since gained celebrity fans such as ex-Made In Chelsea star and our ultimate girl crush Millie Mackintosh. Spot Mrs Pro Green rocking Joanne’s burgundy leather skirt on her style blog. Be sure to catch a glimpse of Joanne’s work between 17th and 30th of December.
Stay tuned for more wish lists coming soon! HO HO HO.
