Ed Sheeran has today been revealed as Scotland’s most pirated music artist.
The BBC have published a report on illegal downloads, using figures obtained by monitoring company Musicmetric, which showed the red-headed singer’s debut album was the most popular illegally shared album over the last six months.
The certified gold album, +, had an average of 55,512 shares per month across the UK.
1257 of those came from Glasgow, the eighth highest pirating city in the UK, with a further 602 shares of the album per month in Edinburgh and 276 in Aberdeen.
The UK ranked as the second highest country in the world for illegal downloads with 43,314,568 total shares, coming second only to the United States who had 96,868,398.
Other popular pirated artists included Drake, Rihanna and Maroon 5.
