The folks at Glasgow Subway have gone all out to usurp the Coca-Cola truck and Santa’s Sleigh as the vehicle of choice this Christmas, with longer opening hours, special offers and discounted travel.
Parking and Travel for £2.70
Every Sunday from the 15th November until the 3rd January, out-of-towners can do their Christmas shopping in Glesga for less than the cost of a fancy Christmas coffee.
The princely sum of £2.70 covers all-day parking at Shields Road, Bridge Street or Kelvinbridge and a return Subway ticket to get you into town and back. Can’t say fairer than that.
Kids Go Free
Whether you’re travelling with your extended family or have little ones of your own, the Subway have decided to make your journey easier by giving every full fare paying adult free tickets for up to two little ones.
Oh, and they’re also giving away shoogle stickers for the weeyins too. Although if you ask nicely (or pretend you have children) you might get one too. No promises though.
Smartcard Special Offers
Got a Smartcard? Then you’ve got access to an ever-changing array of exclusive Christmas offers. Discounted tickets to Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs at the Kings Theatre are already available – with £5 off in December and 25% off in January; plus £2 off Glasgow on Ice every Tuesday and Wednesday from the 1st – 16th December.
With all these added bonsuses, and no doubt more on the way, there’s just one thing left for SPT to do: extend their opening hours.
Every Sunday over the festive period, the Subway will now be open until 8.30pm, which means you’ve got more time to do the things you love, with the people you love.
