Frightened Rabbit are set to release brand new EP The Woodpile on September 2nd – and have announced another headline UK tour to boot. The Selkirk 4-piece, who released their fourth studio album Pedestrian Verse earlier this year, will play at Glasgow’s O2 Academy on November 16th after taking in a whole host of English and Irish cities.
“The Woodpile is about that night you felt utterly out of place, alone, awkward and cornered,” says Scott Hutchinson, Frightened Rabbit’s lead singer. “All any of us want in those instances is for someone we care about to come and take us away from it all. It’s escapist, but also claustrophobic in places. I like the idea of contrasting a big, confident piece of music with lyrics that express uncertainty and vulnerability.”
The Woodpile EP not only features the title track, but also 3 other brand new songs – Default Blues, Radio Silence and Candlelit. Tickets for the band’s UK tour go on sale tomorrow, Friday 9th August, with a full list of dates below. For tickets and further information see Ticketmaster.
