You don’t have to be a budding fashionista to know who Topshop are. Over the years their brand of affordable, stylish and always bang on trend clothing has become a staple of the British high street. They set up shop way back in 1964 and opened their first stand-alone shop in 1970. Since then they’ve expanded into having more than 400 shops across 37 countries. Including their flagship store in London’s Oxford Street – an absolute haven for shopaholics around the world.
The Arcadia Group – who also own high street stores such as Burton, Dorothy Perkins and Miss Selfridge – took over the mantle of Topshop in 2002 and since then the brand has gone from strength-to-strength. Collaborations and collections with people such as Kate Moss and Christopher Kane have ensured that the chain have stayed vibrant and fresh, whilst their recent charity work with Centre Point has allowed them to give something back to young homeless people in the community.
What all this proves is that a career in retail can be much more diverse and interesting than many may assume and that Topshop should be top of the list of companies to work for if this is the area you’re interested in. If you think you’ve got what it takes to work for Topshop or you would like to find out more about this exciting and innovative company, come and hear what they have to say at Futures Fest on March 18th and 19th.
