It’s been a long and frosty week but we’re here to offer you some Hump Day Inspiration, this time in the form of a tongue and cheek bottle of beer. To coincide with the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympics, Brewdog have released a limited edition ‘Hello, my name is Vladimir’ beer to be sold throughout the month of February. In protest at Vladimir Putin’s anti-gay laws, they’ve added ‘Not for gays’ in the small print followed by:
“Hello, my name is Vladimir. I am 100 per cent hetero and will pass laws to prove it. Drinking me gives you energy, ignorance and dogmatism required to shoot a deer (with your top off) and pass internationally denounced, discriminatory legislation (top optional) before you’ve even had your caviar breakfast.”
Pretty crafty don’t you think? They even sent Putin his very own case of beer.
Channel 4 have also jumped on the protest wagon and released this hilarious advert (aired at peak times on Channel 4 and E4) wishing Olympic athletes ‘Good Luck on Gay Mountain’ performed by a rather flamboyant man in red shorts:
Last week in Scotland we celebrated the fact that our bonnie wee country passed the Same-Sex Marriage Bill. Maybe after a few Brewdog beers, Putin will look to follow suit (positive mental attitude folks).
