Most of us have devoted more hours than we’re likely to admit to watching the Friends series. We’ve welcomed the relatable and lovable characters in our homes for the past 20 years and probably will for many more, but hey – what if we really welcomed them into our home, as in Glasgow? Here’s what we think Friends would be like if it was set in this bonnie land.
The one wae the name
The show would be called Pals, not Friends.
The one wae the apartment
Thanks to Monica’s wee gran, they would have a great rent controlled apartment in the West End o’ Glasgow.
The one wae Joey’s big break
Joey wouldn’t land his big break in Days Of Our Lives, but instead would make an appearance in River City.
The one wae the weight
Monica would have gone to Slimming World and Weight Watchers but probably would never have lost the weight. Irn-Bru and deep fried Mars Bars are just too good.
The one wae the constant break-ups
Ross and Rachel’s messy break ups would end them up on the Jeremy Kyle show with Mr. Kyle himself shouting “GIVE US THE BREAK!”
The one wae Rachel’s career
Rachel would have left her family in Bearsden to come stay with Monica. There she would have got a job in Costa and eventually worked her way up in life to become manager of New Look.
The one wae the place they hang about
The gang’s regular spot would be Costas, not Central Perk.
The one wae the bag pipes
Ross probably still couldn’t play the bagpipes for buttons.
The one wae the fringe
Phoebe would always perform at The Fringe for free.
The one wae the freshers
Ross and Chandler would definitely have met at the union at Strathclyde Uni.
The one wae the panto
The pals would all go see Joey do a panto at The Kings every Christmas.
The one wae the catchphrase
Joey’s catch phrase would be “haw how ye dain?”
The one wae Monica’s job
Monica would be head chef of Grill on the Corner.
The one wae Chandler
Chandler would be the ginger pal and he would have 2K followers on twitter for his patter.
The one wae SAAS
Phoebe would be on hold to SAAS for 52 hours about problems with her student loans.
The one wae the fight
Ross and Joey would get into a fight with a couple of Neds who tried to ban them from Costa Coffee but they would all bond in the end over love of Irn-Bru.
