My week at Scotcampus has definitely been one of the most exciting internships I have done. From the minute I arrived I have had the opportunity to write several features across many different genres, as well as helping to promote Futures Fest at colleges and universities across Glasgow.
I was a little nervous on the morning of my first day as it had been 8 months since I’d written, but the atmosphere as soon as I walked into the office was very comforting, and I knew instantly that I was going to enjoy my time here. Aileen (Editorial Manager) and Craig (PR Manager) have been great fun to work with and I can’t thank them enough for all of the advice and skills I am going to go away with.
As a Journalism graduate I have found it increasingly difficult to get work, and at some points have even considered steering away from that direction altogether. This particular internship has reaffirmed my desire to write, and I am really looking forward to a career in this industry. I also hope to continue to write for Scotcampus in the long-haul, it’s everything that I’m interested in!
It’s such a bittersweet feeling having to leave; I’m going to miss this place and the people (including my fellow interns) a lot, but I’ve gained so much experience and I’m excited to put this into practice at my next job.
