I’ve never been a fan of the saying “New Year, New Me”, but I do believe a new year should bring new challenges. So this year I have made a promise, not to stop eating chocolate or to go to the gym more, because let’s face it that is never gonna happen. Instead I intend to pour my heart and soul into writing.
Recently single, I have found a flair for ranting about love and relationships. Like a fish out of water, the plan is to explore what being single in your twenties is all about, and write all the funny yet somewhat embarrassing details down for my reader’s enjoyment. Who knows what lies ahead, maybe I’ll turn out to be the next Bridget Jones. For now, my life revolves the three F’s; friendship, family and fashion.
It’s January 14th today, therefore after two weeks of drinking the clubs of Glasgow dry, it’s finally time to sober up, a sad thought I know. Today I started my internship at Scotcampus Magazine. I decided flick through my twitter feed for inspiration and noticed that the fabulous Nicole Sherzy is releasing a clothing line for Missguided. A fan of both, I decided to do a piece on previous celebrity collaborations. Discussing in the office Rihanna for River Island was clearly a favourite. Once quoted that she loves Princess Diana’s “gangster” style, she confessed her love for Di’s over the top accessorising and lavish style. It’s clear to see where she gets her inspiration from using rich colours and luxurious fabrics in her collections. My Style icon has to be fashion police star, Kelly Osbourne. I am obsessed with her style love to see her working with a high street brand like Topshop or Forever 21.
Day one done and I have made one more promise, to invest in the opportunities that I have been presented with! I’m looking forward to my second day already!
