It is very easy to get caught up in the allure of fashion and what it promises when you run a blog like mine. The models always look amazing, the clothes on them better, and the editorials and campaigns in which they feature are, quite simply, to die for. Do I aspire to own what they wear, and look like they do? I guess to an extent, yes. And to clarify; I am discussing male models. I do not die for heels or bags or Brazilians. And to clarify; I am now talking about pubic hair. Fashion has me by the short and curlys in making itself as accessible as it does and I do love anyone who goes out of their way to flirt outrageously with me by adopting a “full spread” in a magazine. But is the fashion I blog about truly accessible to someone like me?
In short, of course it isn’t. Why on Earth would I be blogging seven days a week if I could afford to spend my days sipping champagne while intensely debating with my stylist whether the Marc Jacobs in black, yellow or brown would go best with my E! Network endorsed Sunset Tan?
Therefore (with poverty always at the back of my mind) I have put together a nice little Fall/Winter outfit courtesy of one of my favourite high street retailers, H&M, for men like me who are on a budget.
It won’t be to everyone’s taste mind, but if I can only save one of you by imparting my out-of-this-world style wisdom then this blog post will have done its job – which is essentially to create a clone of me.
Sorry I had to cheat slightly and go elsewhere on the footwear- you need to have a good shoe for parading yourself around town and H&M’s selection just wasn’t cutting it for me.
No need for a coat remember, this is Scotland not Russia, so get over yourself!
Total Cost – £132.95
While this total for only one outfit might seem like a lot on paper it’s really not once you remind yourself that you are indeed a man and we are allowed to wear outfits more than once. Hundreds of times over actually! You are also allowed to take each item and wear it with something else. I bet you didn’t think of that? But don’t beat yourself up about it; you are a man after all.
