The NME Awards are back this February and it seems Arctic Monkeys are coming up top trumps. Nominated for eight awards: Best British Band, Best Live Act, Best Album, Best Track, Best Music Video, Hero of the Year, Best Fan Community and Music Moment of the Year for their performance at Glastonbury – we’re certain they’ll bag at least one (or one each!). Those monkey’s aren’t the only band up for multiple awards: Haim, Palma Violets and Queens Of The Stone Age are also looking to scoop at least one shiny trophy from their list of multiple nominations.
Russell Brand is causing a stir with his nominations for both Hero and Villain of the Year. He’s not the only disliked celeb, other nominations for villain of the year include Harry Styles and creepy face, Robin Thicke who’s tipped to take the title.
2013 saw the return of music legend David Bowie who is up for Best Male Solo along with newcomers Jake Bugg, James Blake, John Newman and Tom Odell. Ellie Goulding and Jessie J will battle it out for Best Solo Female along with Birdy, Laura Marling and Laura Mvulva.
