Chart-topping boy band One Direction have revealed that they plan to quit the music industry while they’re ahead… then make a huge comeback in ten years time.
Speaking to The Mirror newspaper yesterday, following the first radio play of the band’s latest single Little Things, One Direction’s Niall Horan said, “We want to be like Take That or Gary Barlow – take 10 years out and then come back.”
Although there are no immediate plans for a One Direction split it is rumoured that their second album, which is released on November 12th, could be the boys’ last for a while.
New single Little Things was written for Niall and bandmates Zayn Malik, Liam Payne, Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson by fellow chart-topper Ed Sheeran, and showcases a more mature sound than previous One Direction tracks- perhaps they are on their way to becoming a man band after all!
