Thanks to the high street’s fast fashion approach and the rapid growth of blogging platforms, we’re worshipping at the altar of a new style set- with not a top model in sight. The fashion bloggers below will be taking to Scotcampus.com over the coming weeks to show you what goodies they’re coveting, how they’ll be wearing them and which designers they just can’t get enough of! Want to be in their gang? Email [email protected] with a link to your blog and why we should pick YOU to be our next guest blogger.
Guest Blogger 1: Joanne Wilkinson of My Blonde Ambition (www.myblondeambition.com)
Day job: Web Content Manager
Why I blog: I used to work in journalism and, like any writer, I find it satisfying that people take the time to read what I’ve written.
Best thing about being a blogger: Having a space that’s all mine!
Favourite shopping haunt: Topshop is guaranteed to make me part with my money, and I like the odd treat from Whistles too.
Style icon: Kate Moss, Marilyn Monroe, Debbie Harry and Madonna circa 1985. A bit of bleach and red lipstick never fails to make a look work for me.
Guest Blogger 2: Ruth Logan of The Clothes Im In (www.theclothesimin.blogspot.co.uk)
Day job: Student and Sales Advisor
Why I blog: I study Fashion Management and blogging was part of our course. I enjoyed it, so I kept going!
Best thing about being a blogger: It’s taught me some style dos and don’ts, and I love keeping up with other bloggers and getting inspiration from them.
Favourite shopping haunt: Charity and vintage shops. I’m a believer in sustainability and ethics, so I tend to avoid shopping in high street stores.
Style icon: If I had a 3rd middle name it would be Tumblr, it is FULL of inspiration!
Guest Blogger 3: Portis Wasp of My Portis Wasp Says (www.myportiswaspsays.com)
Location: An undisclosed location in Scotland, not too far from where Kate and Wills first met
Day job: What’s that?
Why I blog: I started it on a whim, but my blog soon became a place where I could channel my creativity and create a scrapbook of my loves.
Best thing about being a blogger: Apart from being sent free underwear, getting to feature and interview artists/models/photographers and designers who inspire and excite me on a daily basis.
Favourite shopping haunt: H&M on the high street for wardrobe basics and Mr Porter online, because this boy likes to dream.
Style icon: 1 measure of Karl Lagerfeld, 2 scoops of Anna Dello Russo, a pinch of Michael Pitt and a
dash of Nick Wooster. Shake for 30 seconds and then serve.
