It could be practically tropical outside and I would still be wearing the chunkiest sweater I could find in the back of my wardrobe. It’s November and it’s officially LESS THAN ONE MONTH TILL CHRISTMAS.
FYI I’m totally one of those sad acts; I’ve bought most of my Christmas shopping and created a Christmas playlist for the office (everything from Destiny’s Child to Sufjan Stevens, Eartha Kitt to Michael Buble… I don’t like to discriminate.) I’m one step away from cracking out the tinsel earrings and singing carols. Which is good for absolutely no one.
The festive mood has been cranked up something rotten. It could be down to the fact we’re talking Christmas nights out already (I’ve committed to 3 separate ones so far, go big or go home folks). Though I suspect the book launch of Cosmetics To Go at Lush last night was a massive contributing factor. Placing myself tactically next to a cheese board and fancy cashews while cooing over the different Christmas goodies has definitely tipped me over the edge into full blown festive mode.
Today I’m off to Edinburgh to work with the somewhereto_ who are planning a pop up department Christmas extravaganza under the name of Harvey Nick Nacks. It basically means I get to sit about in an office and talk about Christmas films all day. Kind of. Either way it’s a pretty sweet gig and the fact that they’ve taken over an empty office building to do it makes it extra sweet.
Look de jour is primarily about keeping warm. I’ve opted for a massive tutu from Ebay, an ASOS cropped top (not pictured because: cold) a massive chunky sweater from H&M and a statement necklace from Next (I told you they were killing it.) To finish the whole thang off I’ve gone for Made In England silver Doc Martens (which are by far the comfiest shoes I’ve ever owned), a long black coat with faux fur collar from a charity shop and a Cuddle Kittens, Hail Satan scarf from Abandon Ship Apparell. And of course my Miu Miu glasses because I can’t see without them/haven’t picked up my new contact lenses yet.
Tomorrow is a day for being a sophisticated, educated, successful business woman with my Sheri, so expect to see a very near convincing imitation of an actual functioning adult in the not too distant future.
