The plan for today was to go out sourcing for my upcoming photo shoots and maybe a bit of street style photography (stylish people of Glasgow permitting). However the weather is undeniably horrid so my plans have been shelved until tomorrow. My new plan for today is research and planning from home then I’m heading out for a late lunch.
My look for today has a polished 70s feel. My wide brim hat is one my favourite things I own. I bought it about a year ago from the H&M Icons collection. I’ve used it in a few shoots (too many, probably) as it really pulls a strong look together. It definitely draws attention wearing it walking up Sauchiehall Street! I’ve seen lots of similar styles in the shops over the last few months, but none quite as big as this one!
My favourite part of the outfit is my newest purchase: this embroidered velvet sleeveless kaftan with fringing. I picked this up in the Topshop sale last week for a bargainous £20! A steal considering it was originally £65. I like it styled for winter, with this burgundy wool polo neck jumper and black ‘leather’ skinnies – but it will look great for festivals in the summer too. I added these Primark boots with gold buckle detailing. For being so high, these boots are pretty comfortable and go really well with so many things. I accessorised today’s look with a gold men’s watch which my little brother got for me years ago. The finishing touch is this amazing orange Italian leather bag, which my mum brought me back from Pisa for my birthday in September. I would never have chosen this bag for myself but I absolutely adore it. The colour orange has been a big trend recently but with this ginger barnet, I tend to steer clear. An orange accessory allows me to channel the trend without looking like a giant carrot.
