A mournful soul has gifted these wee bollards (above) some chalk faces, but they look so down in the dumps. Maybe being photographed will cheer them up. As for me, I’m channelling Withnail on this grey day with a big overcoat and some vintage tweed trousers I found in We Love to Boogie at the weekend.
I quite like mixing one baggy oversize item with everything else fitting just so. The shirt is especially tight as I got it in Japan, where I had to get used to all the clothes being tiny. Yes, it’s true: I am big in Japan. Oh hello existential crisis. It is one of my faves shirts though, as it has wee hippos & llamas printed all over it. I wore it to my mate Harry’s birthday and one of his guests shouted over “Hey Animal Farm! Pass me a beer!”
We Love To Boogie’s purveyor of all things vintage (and resident Glamazon!) Loretta was on hand to dish out some alternate styling ideas for the tweed trousers: “Brogues would be very Gatsby with these trousers. Or big boots, white t shirt, black waistcoat & possibly a hat or beanie with them would be very Johnny Depp… always a good person to emulate!”
Monday can’t be fully monochrome, so I popped on these bright Vans to cheer myself up a bit. There’s a whole range of them featuring different patterns from the Liberty archives. My pal Nancy and I unknowingly bought matching ones so may have to form Glasgow’s least threatening gang. The Paisleys. That or a Simon & Garfunkel tribute act.
Bu-bye for now Scotcampus, be seeing you again tomorra’. I’m off to chomp some “firm young” carrots and humous for my lunch… Uncle Monty would be proud! We miss you Richard Griffiths. Oh and I’m gonna watch Withnail & I tonight and drink the finest wines available to humanity xx
