Hello Scotcampus! I’m Shannon, a Journalism and Politics student at Strathclyde University, and here’s my week in pictures.
I had my Politics exam in the morning which was very stressful but after that I was free to finally relax. Any of you who had January exams will know that it takes a bit of the fun out of the Christmas “break” as it’s not really a break at all!
To celebrate my new-found freedom, my boyfriend Adam and I checked in to the amazing CitizenM Hotel in the city centre, then had a great night out featuring dinner at AdLib, and drinks at Steampunk Café.
I spent the day taking photos for my blog – this was for my Everyday Make-Up post which you can find over at shannondarko.co.uk if you want to have a look inside my make-up bag.
Here’s a little Instagram snap of Adam and I having a relaxing night in on Saturday. We finally finished Breaking Bad (don’t worry, I won’t give away any spoilers!) and I’m still not over the fact that I’ll never see a new episode again. If you haven’t watched it yet then what are you thinking?! It’s completely worth the hype – get on it!
My last day of relaxation before the start of semester two. Here I am organising my planner, looking way too enthusiastic about it all. I’m one of those people that gets far too much enjoyment out of organising things – anyone else feel the same?
Back to good old Strathclyde for a day of Journalism lectures, which were actually pretty interesting so it was a nice day back.
Adam and I began planning our summer and we’ve decided to go inter-railing through Western Europe. I can’t wait to embark on an adventure and soak up the culture! It’ll take a lot of planning but I know it’ll be worth it for an amazing experience.
After uni I went to the John Lewis café in Buchanan Galleries for hot chocolate and Millionaire’s Shortbread. If you sign up for a John Lewis card they send you out vouchers for a free hot drink and cake every month, so I’d recommend taking advantage of it so you can enjoy cute afternoon tea breaks like this.
So that’s how my week went – nothing too out of the ordinary but I always like being nosey and seeing what other people get up to! There’s always something to do in the lovely city of Glasgow and I often write about the places I find on my blog so if you’d like to see that be sure to stop by!
