The Bield at Blackruthven, Perthshire, Scotland 21-23 June
Music-wise there’s We Were Promised Jetpacks, Siobhan Wilson, Karine Polwart and Esther Sparks, while the National Theatre of Scotland’s 99…100 show examines the six degrees of separation, Sarah Cassidy provides some comedy and classic films like The Goonies and Fight Club are also being screened.
Solus Festival aims to create a generous, hospitable space in Scotland, where the arts can be performed and enjoyed by all. With traditional Christian roots, the festival has a commitment to equality, justice, beauty and hospitality, and is run almost entirely by volunteers.
Not only is music on the menu, but also literature, performing and visual arts, film and interactive workshops. This year, in addition to a range of ethically sourced and local food, there’s a new Scottish Larder area where you’ll hear some new ideas on food sustainability and equality. Providing the munchies are Andrew MacDonald with Haggis Haggis and Hugh Grierson Organic.
Beatboxing with Jason Singh sounds like our kind of workshop, then catch the man himself performing an exclusive set for Solas Festival with Indian and Scottish collective, India Alba.
