Britain’s best-loved family, folk and world music festival, Wychwood, will take place at its spiritual home of Cheltenham Racecourse from 31st May to 2nd June.
Returning for its ninth year, 2013’s Wychwood Festival promises to deliver an enticing entertainment program suitable for all members of the family, from adults to teenagers and children alike.
Music comes courtesy of a host of nostalgic and modern-day artists, including eighties legends The Human League, pop starlet Kate Nash and folk sensation Sam Lee. BBC6 Music and Radio 2 host Craig Charles will also be bringing his popular funk-soul radio show to the festival, whilst reggae legends The Beat will kick off proceedings on Friday night.
So much more than a music festival, Wychwood will see comedian Bill Bailey headlining on Sunday, and an enviable programme of children’s literature, poetry, theatre and dance workshops will be taking place too. There’ll even be a beer festival, courtesy of Wychwood’s very own brewery.
A highlight of this year’s agenda is DocTent, a unique and never-before seen space, where festivalgoers
are invited to delve into the world of documentary film. There will also be the chance to play a part in the
extraordinary WychDoc Project. A truly collaborative effort, this will be a documentary filmed and edited entirely by festivalgoers, free to view during and after the weekend.
