Fans of graphic artist David Shrigley listen up: you could meet the man himself in Glasgow on October 20th!
Glasgow School of Art alumni Shrigley, famed for his darkly humorous line drawings, will be appearing at Urban Outfitters on Buchanan Street to promote his new book How Are You Feeling.
As well as signing copies of the book, David will also be painting the shop window in his signature style- with what though, he doesn’t yet know.
Speaking exclusively to Scotcampus, David said, “I guess it’s on my list of things to do, to figure out what that image is going to be, but I can tell you now that it won’t have any swear words in it- I’ve learnt from bitter experience that it’s not appropriate to write swear words in the window of a shop!”
When asked how this collaboration came to light he explained, “Urban Outfitters have always been supportive of my books; they don’t sell that many books, but apparently I fit into that remit of the ones they do. My appearance there acknowledges that they are friends of mine.”
Scotcampus have five packages to give away, each consisting of a wristband which allows you to attend David’s appearance at Urban Outfitters, as well as a copy of How Are You Feeling, which you can have signed by David on the day.
